The Mission Behind the Method

The core mission of The Towns Foundation Group (TFG) is to reduce the cycle of re-admission in large institutions, including hospitals and incarceration facilities. This mission was born from my years of experience working in both Geriatric and Forensic units. My legacy of service continues to bless the world with such a holistic, dignity-centered approach ensuring that this light continues to shine in the lives of every senior and student who enters the "Online TFG's Training Program".

In those vastly different settings, I witnessed the exact same triggers for crisis: the mind wandering in "wrong clouds" due to a lack of purposeful and meaningful activities. When the spirit is not engaged, the body and mind quickly follow into decline, leading back to the institution.

Our Solution through Education: We train our Assisted Living Managers to be the first line of defense against this cycle. By implementing our Body-Mind-Spirit approach, TFG-trained leaders provide the "purposeful activities" that keep seniors:

  • Healthy: Reducing hospital re-admissions through preventative care.

  • Happy: Keeping the mind anchored in positive, meaningful engagement.

  • Home: Ensuring they stay in their community and out of big institutions.

Key Initiatives by TFG

The very soul of The Towns Foundation Group, Inc is the Holistic Approach mission to reach and assist more people. By embedding the Holistic Approach into the education side, we ensure that our participants aren't just learning how to run a business; they are learning how to care for the Body, Mind, and Spirit as one unit.

A Holistic Approach to Wellness

Health maintenance at TFG goes beyond medical charts. We teach our managers that true wellness is about engagement and dignity.

  • Mind-Body Connection: Our initiatives focus on engaging seniors in meaningful activities that keep their minds active and purposeful. By fostering hobbies, social interaction, and cognitive play, we help residents keep their focus off their health conditions and on their quality of life.

  • Promoting Dignity: When a senior is viewed as a person with interests and talents—rather than a patient with a diagnosis—their dignity is preserved. This proactive approach to mental engagement is a key pillar of our Maryland ALM Training.

  • Preventative Joy: We believe that happiness is a form of health maintenance. Busy minds are healthier minds, and our curriculum provides managers with the tools to build vibrant activity programs that support long-term wellness.

Success Stories

Empowering Local Entrepreneurs

One of TFG's standout initiatives is its support for local entrepreneurs. By providing microloans and business training, TFG has helped numerous individuals start their own businesses. Some graduates from our Assisted Living Manager Training are turning their own wheels. They are successfully managing small assisted living facility of 8 beds or less. They are supporting their families but also employing others in their community.

Challenges and Solutions

Challenge 1: The "Busy Professional" Barrier

  • The Problem: Many healthcare workers want to move into management but work 12-hour shifts or multiple jobs, making a traditional 80-hour classroom schedule impossible.

  • The TFG Solution: We’ve broken the mold with our 2026 Digital Audio Vault. By providing high-quality audio modules (like the Philosophy of ALM), we turn commute time and break times into study time.

Challenge 2: The Regulatory "Red Tape"

  • The Problem: OHCQ compliance (COMAR 10.07.14) is intimidating. Students often fear failing an audit or missing a deadline.

  • The TFG Solution: We act as the "Compliance Partner." As seen in our Student Records, we meticulously track every document—from ID verification to the 6-month completion window—so the student can focus on learning, not paperwork.

Challenge 3: Financial Obstacles

  • The Problem: The cost of quality certification can be a barrier to those who have the heart for the work but lack the immediate funds.

  • The TFG Solution: Through the TFG School Scholarship Fund, we reinvest proceeds from our courses to help underserved individuals enter the field. We believe that financial status should never limit a person’s ability to serve their community.

Conclusion: From Vision to Impact

When I first began brainstorming the "Outreach" phase of The Towns Foundation Group, I envisioned a world where health was treated as a unified whole—Body, Mind, and Spirit. Today, seeing that vision embedded in our Assisted Living Manager Training is a reminder that we never lost our way.

By addressing the triggers that lead to re-admission—the "wandering mind" and the lack of purposeful activity—we are doing more than teaching a course; we are reducing the burden on our large institutions and bringing peace back to the individual.

Whether you are a busy professional utilizing our Digital Audio Vault or a donor supporting our Scholarship Fund, you are part of this holistic revolution. Together, we are ensuring that every senior in our community is seen, heard, and cared for with the dignity they deserve.

By supporting organizations like TFG, we can all play a part in building stronger, more vibrant communities. Whether through volunteering, donating, or simply spreading the word, every action counts. Let’s work together to create a brighter future for all.
